The Green Smoothie and Other Fine Foods

Here are some food highlights from this past week:

  1. Matt chose his own lunch on Friday. Oatmeal, cherry tomatoes with ranch, and a peanut butter-jelly-mozzerella sandwhich. Yes. He wanted cheese on his pb&j. He liked it.

  2. I made the best chocolate cake ever. It was a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa and consisted of a homemade chocolate mocha cake with chocolate mocha frosting. The cake had so much coffee and cocoa that it was almost black.

  3. The green smoothie. Honestly, it looks absolutely digusting but is very good. You blend 1 frozen banana, a handful of fresh baby spinich, and milk. The smoothie looks like split pea soup but tastes like a banana milkshake.

  4. I also baked 2 loaves of homemade whole white wheat bread. For all you Wednesday girls, this was Mandi's recipe. It was the easiest bread recipe I have ever tried. The loaves came out delish and we consumed 1 in a few hours.

Here are some pictures of the mysterious green smoothie. You will notice that in the second picture Matt is actually drinking his smoothie. Happily, I might add.
