Preschool with a Dr. twist

After Matt's gymnastics class ended, we made the decision to try to enroll him in preschool. After calling around, we finally found one that a couple of his friends attended. We toured it a few weeks ago and I think Matt would have stayed that day if I would have let him!

He started on Monday and has loved it! His teachers seem to be very sweet and loving. It's like a tag team of mom and grandma (one is young and the other is old). The most exciting thing for Matt has been his name box. This is his box with his own scissors (always stated first when asked what is inside), glue, and crayons. Another exciting thing is the new meal-time prayer he learned. In case you didn't know, this is big stuff to a three year old.

One not so great thing we had to do this week was go to a new pediatrician. It is an understatement to say that Matt was a little less then thrilled about this event. He had a great pedi back home so the new guy had a lot to live up to. Before we ever got to the office Matt was already saying he did not like this doctor and he was going to be bad! He did OK until the Dr. wanted to look in his ears. Upon hearing that, Matt went into "hair cutting" mode: shrieking, wriggling, and crying. I have never had to restrain my son to get his ears checked so that was a new one.
I like to think that was Matt's way of saying "hey dude, I don't know you and see, I don't trust you." Who knows...But I do know one thing, I am not looking forward to next month, SHOTS!!

Glad Matt is enjoying preschool! It's cool at this age when they actually like school...we all know what happens in the future...Shots will be fun I'm sure! Good luck with that.

I know he is excited to go back to school. I know how much I dislike going to a new Dr. so I can imagine how he feels. When it's shot time bribe him, it doesn't always work but it doesn't hurt to try. It didn't work with you either, until we left then you wanted your bribe.
